1 Chronicles 17:16 “Then King David went in and sat before the Lord and prayed, “Who am I, O Lord God, and what is my family, that you have brought me this far?…””
Can you hear the humility in his voice? The awe? The shock? The disbelief? I know that every time I think about all God has brought me through, and all that he has brought many people through, I’m blown away. Let’s look at three things in this verse that is in all our lives: the truth, the humility and the future.
Who are we to be brought this far? We are absolutely special, treasures of the Source who made us. I firmly believe that each of us has a unique gifting and calling on our lives and that we have been put here to do great things.
We don’t have any boasting ability, nor do we have any right to take credit for the great things we accomplish. If we’re conscious to thank Source for all it has helped us do, and give it credit for what we accomplish, we will continue to see blessings and continue to be amazed at the things that come our way.
Our future is not dependent on our past. You may choose to take what is in your past and use those lessons learned to positively impact the lives of others, but you don’t have to. You can leave your past where it is, in the past. Your focus should be on what is going on now in your life, with some consideration for what will be in the future.
As you do your morning/evening meditation, prayer and/or journaling, I encourage you to be humble and thankful for where your life has taken you and where you will go.
