Biblical Kindness

This month we’re talking about kindness.  The Bible has many things to say about kindness, let’s see what we can learn:

“Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up.” Proverbs 12:25

“A kindhearted woman gains honor, but ruthless men gain only wealth.” Proverbs 11:16

“”In a surge of anger I hid my face from you for a moment, but with everlasting kindness I will have compassion on you,” says the Lord your Redeemer.” Isaiah 54:8

“Whoever oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God.” Proverbs 14:31

“As God’s partners, we beg you not to accept this marvelous gift of God’s kindness and then ignore it.” 2 Corinthians 6:1

“But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.” Galatians 5:22-23

“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” Ephesians 4:32

“Then the Lord passed by in front of him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord God, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness and truth.”” Exodus 34:6

“For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His loving kindness toward those who fear Him.” Psalm 103:11

“Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up.” Proverbs 12:25

“He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” Micah 6:8

“Yet God, with undeserved kindness, declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.” Romans 3:24

I think the biggest thing we can learn is to take a lesson from God’s kindness and share some with our fellow men.  What about you?
