2012 in Words: Peace

“If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.”
Mother Teresa

This month we’ll be talking a lot about peace. Why?  Because we’re all going through some major changes in the world and personally, and I know it’s hard to find peace amid change.

Mother Teresa was a big believer in peace.  She spent her whole life working with others and helping them find the peace they had longed for.  I think if anyone really knows what peace is, it’s her.

Peace is action.  No, it’s not war to make peace, it’s doing the right thing to help your neighbor or even someone half way around the world.

Peace is consideration.  It’s remembering that you’re not alone in the world and being considerate for both the present inhabitants as well as all future ones.

Peace comes from within. Maybe you don’t feel peace, but if you’re able to give another peace you’ll find some peace yourself.

Peace has to start with you. You can’t keep waiting for peace to fall in your lap or a big world leader to get the peace ball rolling.  We each have to start creating peace into our worlds.

What will you do today to create peace in your life and the world?

Mother Teresa If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.
