Loving through Teamwork

This month we’ve been talking about teamwork and the simple fact is there isn’t enough teamwork being done in the world. I don’t believe we’re truly supporting each other like we should be. Too many people are worried about themselves. Don’t get me wrong, the only way that we can all win is if we’re personally strong or capable enough to contribute our part, so it is necessary to focus some of your attention on yourself. But we should also be considering how we can make the world a better place for all of us, not just ourselves.

One of the greatest things teamwork does is make us realize that we’re not alone. When we take the time to work together to create a better future or fulfill a vision, we’re no longer responsible for every aspect of it which is a huge relief. But beyond knowing that we’re not in this day-to-day challenge called life alone there’s a bigger opportunity at hand: teamwork gives us an opportunity to do more than just change the world, it gives us the chance to love the world.

From many of the headlines in the papers and news sites these days you know there’s a lack of love in the world. But only when we’re together and supporting each other is there a possibility of creating and giving the love the world needs. If we’re alone or focused on us only there’s no way for the love to show up. Teamwork gives us the opportunity to show more than just support and kindness, it gives us the chance to love. Love isn’t something you have to practice or be good at, it doesn’t cost anything, it’s something anyone can do if they’re willing.

What will you choose this week? Will you choose to give love and be part of a team? I encourage you to step up and be the bigger person, the person who is contributing to the solutions and hope in the world, rather than someone who is adding to the list of problems.

“I think the biggest disease the world suffers from in this day and age is the disease of people feeling unloved. I know that I can give love for a minute, for half an hour, for a day, for a month, but I can give. I am very happy to do that, I want to do that.” Princess Diana
